Skyfall

As the highest-grossing Bond film of all time, Skyfall raked in a stunning $1.1 billion upon its release in 2012. Adjusted for inflation, that would be $1.5 billion today. The other Daniel Craig era Bond films have massive box office numbers, but none of them come close to Skyfall — which is the 34th highest grossing film of all time.

Adele’s iconic Skyfall theme uses the same chord progression of the original James Bond Theme by Monty Norman (1928-2022). Her vocals are so distinct and sultry — that non musicians are simply experiencing “a James Bond feeling”. They may not realize it’s the same leitmotif , which is a short, recurring musical phrase associated with a particular person, or concept.
