Evan, performing with New Invisible Joy in 2018.

Evan Handyside is a self-employed guitar teacher in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania with 25 years experience. He has also performed throughout the Northeast as the bass player for the Pittsburgh-based Atl-Rock band, New Invisible Joy. The band has released four albums on their indie-label, Goldwish records.

As a member of New Invisible Joy, Evan opened for numerous national artists like John Mayer, The Killers, Rufus Wainwright, Nirvana’s Krist Novoselic, and many more.  He has also performed on television, radio, and at major-label showcases.  New Invisible Joy’s second EP was recorded in New York city with major-label producer/engineer Ed Tuton (Lenny Kravitz).

Currently, Evan lives in the South Hills of Pittsburgh with his wife Jennifer, son Matthew (and dog, Luna). He continues to run a successful teaching business while pursuing compelling, modern content for guitar.

Evan has released an EP independently — you can learn more about his music here. Additionally, Evan’s performances have been featured internationally in television commercials for KPN and Solidar Suisse

Evan also composed the score for the short film, Broken Noons, by Mexican director, Guillermo L. Vasquez.
