We Move Lightly
This has always been one of my favorite pieces by Dustin O’Halloran, who is among best contemporary composers. I performed We Move Lightly on years ago on this blog, but I wanted to do a refreshed performance.
Although We Move Lightly is played in a higher register, the overall tone is warm and muted. I believe this guitar version gets closer to the original intent.

How to play We Move Lightly for classical guitar
We Move Lightly is relatively easy to play. The two note intervals are simple — but the speed of the song requires you to be agile. It helps to visualize your hand and fingers as light and fast. I think this is a perfect song for beginner guitar players.
The guitar tab is two pages long and beautifully written. You’ll see an interval followed by a (. . .) — this indicates to play the interval three times. It’s much easier to read the guitar tab this way.
My order of play, in accordance with the guitar tab, goes like this: Verse 4x, Chorus 1 — Verse 4x, Chorus 2 — Verse 4x, Chorus 2 — Verse 3x, End.
Enjoy, the guitar tab is available below:
We Move lightly is played one whole step down. Your tuning will go like this, from low to high: D G C F A D.
