F1: The Movie, immerses viewers in the high-stakes world of Formula One racing. The film stars Brad Pitt and is directed by Joseph Kosinski. If you mashed up the films — Top Gun: Maverick, and Days of Thunder (with Pitt’s own Tarantino character) Cliff Booth in the driver seat — you’d have a pretty good feel for, F1: The Movie.

I took my 10 year-old son to see F1 a few days after opening, and it was absolutely fantastic. Definitely the movie event of the summer much like 2022’s Top Gun: Maverick (also directed by Joseph Kosinski). The soundtrack plays a HUGE role in this film — harkening back to the 1980’s golden era for movie soundtracks — with many albums achieving massive commercial success and becoming iconic in their own right. Dirty Dancing, Top Gun, and Back to the Future — are just to name a few.

Composer, Hans Zimmer’s techno theme for F1 is truly badass. A total hype song. It undergirds the entire movie and the film’s main pop theme, “Lose My Mind” (Don Toliver, Doja Cat). It worked pretty easily as a fingerstyle arrangement too!
