Matera

Matera is my favorite piece from Hans Zimmer’s No Time To Die score. The key and positioning left me no choice but to add You Only Live Twice here and there as well.

This is the final James Bond film for Daniel Craig, who is clearly the best Bond of my generation (I’m 46 at the moment). With the exception of Idris Elba, it’s hard to imagine anyone else succeeding Daniel Craig in this role. Craig initially jumped on the radar screen (for the Bond character) from his role in the British gangster film Layer Cake (2004). It’s an excellent movie if you get a chance to watch it.

Chris Cornell: Casino Royale | fingerstyle guitar + TAB
(Only THE BEST Bond theme ever.)

Bille Eilish: No Time To Die | fingerstyle guitar + TAB
(Hans Zimmer co-wrote this with Billie Eilish and Fineas. I think it turned out great as a singular guitar piece.)

The American: theme | fingerstyle guitar + TAB
(Speaking of espionage. The American is my all time favorite film and score.)

How to play Matera | fingerstyle guitar

The guitar tab for this arrangement is beautifully written across 3 pages. I recommend Matera for intermediate guitar players and up. You’ll love this, it’s glorious to play. The guitar tab is available below:

Matera is essentially one long passage played straight through without repeats. As mentioned above, I just had to add You Only Live Twice in there. It was fun to make it a bit of a medley.

I’ve given you the names of the chord shapes above the guitar tab to help you play this piece more efficiently. matera is played in standard tuning with a capo on the 1st fret. You could just as easily play it without a capo — to make the fret board easier to read. Enjoy!
