Innocent Kids, by New Invisible Joy
If you’ve read my bio, you might know that I was in a touring Alt-rock band called, New Invisible Joy. We operated (mostly) from the late 90’s well into the early 2000s. We were the real deal. Here’s a short bio:
New Invisible Joy is an atmospheric Atl-Rock band based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Formed in 1997, the band is known for their soaring, expansive sound, reminiscent of such Brit-rock outfits as The Verve, and Suede.
With their heady blend of reverbed guitars and ethereal vocals, “NIJ” performed throughout the Northeast, opening for numerous national artists like John Mayer, The Killers, Rufus Wainwright, The Strokes, Dave Navarro, 30 Seconds to Mars, and Nirvana’s Krist Novoselic
In addition to radio and television performances, their 2007 single, Close Your Eyes, was featured on Monday Night Football from 2017-2019.
Today, we released our 1st NEW single in 17 years. Innocent Kids is available on all streaming services. Quick links below:
In September 2023, we needed a mid-life boost, and there was a palpable sense among the band that we were leaving something on the table. So we booked a show at Pittsburgh Winery. To our amazement — every single one of our long-time fans came to see us on 12/9, the show sold out, and we played our asses off.
Performing felt very natural and fun. Through this process we rediscovered our friendship…our brotherhood. New music flows from us effortlessly at this point.
So, we hope you enjoy our 1st single in 17 years. InnocentKids is our anthem for Generation X. Please play it, and share it far and wide.
Thanks for listening,
Evan
