The Batman

Christopher Nolan’s previous Dark Knight franchise was tough to follow in any sense. It’s still my favorite; cinematically and musically. However, I think The Batman was pretty great. I wasn’t sold on the first watch, but I’ve revisited the film since, and enjoyed the lo-tech noir of the Robert Pattinson’s Batman.

The director, Matt Reeves, directed Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and War for the Planet of the Apes — two of the best movies you will ever see. Robert Pattinson (Bruce Wayne) is an excellent actor. Check out a couple of his lesser known performances to see this man’s range: The King (Netflix), and The Rover (with Guy Pearce).

Composer, Michael Giacchino’s ‘The Batman’ theme sets the tone — and is a worthy successor to Hans Zimmer’s iconic two-chord motif.

How to play The Batman | fingerstyle guitar

The guitar tab for this piece is beautifully written across 3 pages. While I try to make every arrangement as easy as possible to play, I recommend The Batman for intermediate guitar players and up.

There’s a key change in the middle of my version because I arranged The Batman in two different positions. I couldn’t decide which one I liked best — so I just combined them.

Happy playing! The guitar tab is available below:

This arrangement is essentially played straight through from start to finish, without repeats. I’ve given you the names of the chord shapes above the TAB to make it easier to navigate, and play more efficiently.

In accordance with the guitar tab, the order of play looks like this:

Intro 1, Verse 1, Chorus 1

(then a key change)

Intro 2, Verse 2, Chorus 2, End.

**The Batman (2022): theme | fingerstyle guitar

I’m playing this piece one whole step down for a darker tonality. My tuning is D G C F A D. However, you can play it in any neck position you prefer: standard tuning, capoed, etc.
