What Was I Made For? is the prototypical tune from Billie Eilish. However, the underpinnings show incredible musicality and restraint. Billie Eilish and her brother/writing partner FINNEAS created a very intimate song. I especially like Eilish’s choice of a delicate, breathy falsetto. She explains and demonstrates how she arrived at the Oscar-winning vocal line in this video.

The piece worked very easily into an arrangement for fingerstyle guitar, with basic (but clever) chord progressions. Billie Eilish does a slick vocal run in 2nd chorus. I was incorporating that, but then spun it into a little Americana riff off of the G position.
