Moneyball: How to play It’s a Process (for guitar) — Mychael Danna

Posted on 24. Sep, 2011 by in Film Score, Free Tabs

If the word “eustress” could be explained in music — the score for Moneyball would define it. Using sparse piano melodys underscored by buzzing violins, prolific film composer Mychael Danna invokes equal parts: self-doubt and perseverance.

What interested me was ‘It’s a Process’ — a motif used a few times in the movie most noticably in the end credits. Of all the songs in Moneyball’s score, it’s the most uplifting piece and the one that I felt was most applicable to solo guitar. Tuned down one whole step to (DGCFAD), ‘It’s a Process’ is fairly easy to play but the quick shift from a G position to the 7th and 8th fret might be tricky when you’re trying keep the tempo. The tab is available below.  Enjoy!

    Hello,
I found on YouTube (when I was looking Santaolalla music). I’m learning to play guitar on my own and I’m learning to listen and more patiently. I am not a musician, I just like to learn arts do not know.
I really like your playing and just wanted to thank you for your contribution we can all learn a little more.
Greetings from Spain (and sorry for my english)

Excellent Blog! I guess you can say Gustavo Santaolalla brought me here. Saw your videos on youtube! Wouldn’t consider myself a musician anymore, but I have played in the past. Hope to use this site and perhaps start playing again. Thanks!

    And keep posting!

I love these notes since everything else is always Chords, and i dont like to sing!!
I was wondering if you could do “The Show” by Kerris Dorsey (Moneyball)
Or, (dare i say it) Justin Bieber?!
I’m younger, and it would be AWESOME if you could do movie songs or more pop songs like LMFAO or Katy Perry. I’ve always wanted to learn those!
    thank you!
