Werewolf by Night

Werewolf by Night is the directorial debut film debut of (A-list composer) Michael Giacchino. It is a TON of fun. The “creature feature” is stylized in black & white with a run time of only 53 minutes. It’s an old-time monster film with Marvel special effects. I loved every second of it. What an incredible first outing for Michael Giacchino.

Giacchino’s score and sound editing is (as always) excellent. This piece is called ‘Mane Theme’.

How to play Mane Theme | fingerstyle guitar

Mane Theme is under 2 minutes long and is a perfect étude (French: “study”) for practicing bar chords. F minor being the most difficult “beginner” bar chord. Even for me — it’s difficult to hold an exact F minor — over and over again as Mane Theme requires.

I found a work-around by tuning one whole step down, then applying a capo to the 2nd fret. This keeps the piece in standard tuning — but brings the F minor shape closer to my body.
