Lily’s Theme
Lily’s Theme, by composer Alexandre Desplat, is one of the most poignant pieces of music from the Harry Potter films. The song was composed by French composer, Alexandre Desplat, who scored both parts of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.” The haunting vocals featured in the song were performed by Mai Fujisawa, the daughter of renowned Japanese composer Joe Hisaishi.
“Lily’s Theme” is a central musical motif associated with Lily Potter, Harry’s mother. The music represents her lasting presence, and protective magic, which shielded Harry and ultimately led to Voldemort’s downfall.
It turned out to be a gorgeous fingerstyle arrangement, and one of my most favorite pieces on Intellimusica.
