Hedwig’s Theme

While I’ve never seen a Harry Potter movie, I do love the music by John Williams. I know the music has a lot of special meaning to people, so I intend to do more pieces from the Harry Potter films.

I created this arrangement of Hedwig’s theme (specifically) from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. I’ve lowered the key a full step to make it more comfortable to play on guitar.

How to play Hedwig’s Theme | fingerstyle guitar

Hedwig’s Theme is relatively easy to play. The guitar tab is a single page long. Enjoy, the guitar tab is available below:

You’ll repeat the long passage 2x.

If you want the full Harry Potter effect — the original capo position will be on the 7th fret. However, that high position was to uncomfortable for me to play fluidly, so I moved it down to the 5th fret position.

**Hedwig’s Theme for classical guitar

Hedwig’s Theme is played in standard tuning with (my capo) on the 5th fret.
