A Game of Badminton

Jane Eyre: An Autobiography, is an 1847 novel by the English writer Charlotte Brontë. The book is considered a literary classic, as it’s filled with a dark mystery and the harrowing experience of a young woman.

The 2011 film adaptation, directed by Cary Fukunaga (No TIme to Die) is thought to be best screen version of Jane Eyre. The film stars Michael Fassbender as Edward Fairfax Rochester, and Mia Wasikowska as Jane.

The breathlessly beautiful music in Jane Eyre is principally from composer Dario Marianelli, with violin soloist Jack Liebeck, and composer Benjamin Wallfisch co-credited.

The solo piano piece ‘A Game of Badminton’ is played when Jane’s life progresses and she starts her adult life and new job. Although the pleasant setting is reflected in the music, there’s also a pensive sadness to it.

I love how it turned out on guitar; a delicate and minimalist fingerstyle motif.
