Blood Theme

Dexter was an excellent Showtime series (2006 – 2013) set in Miami. The series centered on Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall), a forensic technician, who leads a secret parallel life as a vigilante serial killer. The Blood Theme, by composer Daniel Licht, is the central theme of the series. I always loved the eerie, lacerating violins in the verse.

The arrangement is beautifully written across a single page. While best suited to intermediate guitar players, this piece is doable practice piece for beginners as well.

I’ve also added Blood Theme to my 2 Minute Classical Guitar archive; songs of varying difficulty — all under 2 minutes. Perfect for building your capacity on guitar.

Enjoy, the guitar tab is available below:

The guitar tab is played straight through twice. You’ll want to start each passage in an A minor shape. My order of play looks like this:

Intro, Verse 2x, Chorus 2x

Intro, Verse 2x, Chorus 2x

There’s a trick tuning for this arrangement. You’ll tune every string down a 1/2 step, except for the Low E (6th) string. Your tuning will look like this, from low to high: E Ab Db Gb Bb Eb. Or, depending on you tuner, it will look like this: E G# C# F# A# D#.
