Logan

I’m very excited to see Logan, the latest and final instalment of the (Hugh jackman era) Wolverine franchize. They couldn’t have picked a better actor for this role.

To witness Hugh Jackman’s range, watch Les Miserables — an incredible performance. Though I know Wolverine fans aren’t necessarily going to rush to watch a musical.

I like what composer Marco Beltrami did with the Logan theme. I feel like he riffed on the original dissonance of NIN’s Hurt — blending the spirit of the Johnny Cash version.

Gear Used

For Logan, I used my little Cordoba Dolce guitar. It’s an affordable 3/4 size guitar, with a bright sound. Cordoba has superior bracing, even in their cheaper instruments, so a $280 Cordoba is going to be far superior to just about anything else in that price point.

My camera is a Zoom Q8 with an SSH-6 Stereo Shotgun Mic. You can find all of my gear here.

How to play Logan, Main Titles Theme for guitar

(Note: This is my premium material. Please subscribe to my YouTube channel, or click here to be updated on all of my latest guitar tabs.)

I would consider the Logan Main Titles Theme relatively easy to play, because there are no difficult chord shapes. However, it’s extremely convoluted.

The theme is comprised of an ever changing collection of dissonant notes, coupled with a traditional bass line. I really had to concentrate on the guitar tab as I performed this in the video above.

[Normally I know what I’m doing, and I just keep an eye on the guitar tab to ensure that what I’m playing is exactly represented on the guitar tab. The Logan theme is just weird enough that it required extra attention.]

Despite the long performance, the guitar tab for Logan is only pages long. My order of play, in accordance with the guitar tab is: Intro, Verse, Chorus 2x — Verse, Chorus 2x, – Verse, End.

Enjoy, the guitar tab is available below:

Logan is played in a semi open G tuning. From low to high: D G D G B E. You’ll then place a capo on the 7th fret:
