Jurassic World

John Williams is an icon, and his ‘Jurassic theme’ is one of many modern classics by the long time composer. It’s incredible how he has been pitch perfect for nearly 50 years of film making. My entire youth has been sound-tracked by John Williams; Jaws, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, E.T. — the list go on and on.

My favorite arrangement of the Jurassic theme is by composer Michael Giacchino (from Jurassic World). Giacchino riffed on it ever-so-slightly and was able to extend and embellish the best bits.

How to play Jurassic World | fingerstyle guitar

The guitar tab for this arrangement is beautifully written across 2 pages. I would characterize Jurassic World as best for intermediate guitar players and up.

Enjoy! The guitar tab is available below:

You’ll play the guitar tab straight through, repeating the finale twice.

I’m playing this piece tuned one whole step down. From low to high: D G C F A D. However, this arrangement sounds great in standard tuning, or even with a capo.
