The Kiss

The Kiss is the up-tempo, and secondary cue from The Last of the Mohicans. Another (nearly identical) version of this cue is entitled Promentory. Both songs are actually a Celtic violin motif entitled “The Gael” by Scottish singer-songwriter Dougie MacLean.
The Kiss can be considered a companion piece to the Main Title Theme which I've also performed on this blog. Within that post, I've written about the chaotic music production and multiple composers used for The Last of the Mohicans.
This piece works as an étude: a short composition built on a technical motive -- but also played for its artistic value. We could also call it "a musical exercise". I've compiled a few of these études in my 2 Minute Classical Guitar Archive. I really love these cues because -- no matter how difficult they are -- there's no time investment. Everything is under 2 minutes!
