Rein
This song is from the film, Biutiful, directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu (The Revenant, Babel, Birdman). Biutiful stars Javier Bardem who plays Uxbal: a conflicted criminal in Barcelona’s underground. Learning that he is ill and has just a few months to live, Uxbal races against time to get his affairs in order, and secure his two children.
The score, by Gustavo Santaolalla, employs his trademark (avant garde) use of the guitar and ronroco.

For Rein, I used my Cordoba C7 guitar. I use this guitar for low and alternate tunings. You can find a current list of my gear here.
How to play Gustavo Santaolalla’s Rein | fingerstyle guitar
The guitar tab for Rein is beautifully written across two pages. Although the chord shapes are easy to play, I found the relentless finger-style is best suited for intermediate guitar players and up.
In accordance with the guitar tab, my order of play looks like this:
Intro 2x, Verse 3x, Chorus, Chorus End 1
Verse 3x, Chorus, Chorus End 2
Enjoy, the guitar tab is available below:
Rein is played in a weird/low tuning: D G A# D G C. I’m capturing multiple instruments at once, so you gotta do what you have to do.
