Amor y Paz

On March 24th (2020), at the beginning of the pandemic, Gustavo Santaolalla posted this short piece to his Instagram and YouTube channel. So far as I can tell, he’s calling it Amor y Paz (Love & Peace). It was a musical offering to wish his followers well —  as we all headed in to isolation for a few weeks.

Amor y Paz is absolutely lovely, and it has since become one of my favorite pieces to play. Unfortunately, the performance has since been deleted from his socials. (Probably an administrator, only keeping highly relative content.)

I’m glad I figured it out when I did! I’m the only remaining testament to this amazing fingerstyle piece.

How to play Amor y Paz | fingerstyle guitar

The guitar tab for Amor y Paz is beautifully written across 3 pages. This will be slightly challenging for beginner and intermediate guitar players. Gustavo Santaolalla is a fairly agile guitar player. His style is comprised of intermittent fast movements with slow rolling notes.

This should be a fun, but very doable challenge for most guitar players. Enjoy, the guitar tab is available below:
