The Last Kingdom is a historical fiction (Netflix) series based on a series of novels entitled, The Saxon Stories by English author Bernard Cornwell. The television series is like early Game of Thrones; fast-paced storytelling, well developed character arcs, and replete with “adult themes”. Episode 1, season 1 literally covers an entire decade in 50 minutes. This series had been recommended to me by multiple friends — and it is excellent.
Livstraedrir is may favorite motif from the series. It’s really the ‘love theme’ used throughout the seasons. I put my own spin on it — adding hammers, pulls, and trills where applicable.

The guitar tab for this arrangement is beautifully written across 2 pages. I recommend it for beginner guitar players — as it’s just slightly challenging. Also, the piece evolves in complexity, allowing you to practice for the next section. Enjoy, the guitar tab is available below:
In accordance with the guitar tab, the order of play, looks like this:
Intro 2x, Verse 2x, Chorus 2x

The Last Kingdom (Netflix): theme | fingerstyle guitar
Livstaredrir is played in a slight alternate tuning, from low to high: E G D G B D. You’ll tune your 5th string down to G — and tune your 1st string down to D.
I’m only using a capo in the video because my guitar was tuned down one whole step: D F C F A C. Putting a capo on the 2nd fret brings it to: E G D G B D.
