Brokeback Mountain 3 is an achingly beautiful piece of music from Gustavo Santaolalla’s Academy award winning Brokeback Mountain score - most of which was played on a single solitary acoustic guitar.
'Wings' is the most memorable theme from Brokeback Mountain. However, the themes entitled 1, 2, and 3 are my favorites. [You can hear a plane flying overhead in the beginning of the video above.]
Becoming a fan (and deciphering Santaolalla’s music over the years) has essentially been an ongoing tutorial in film score on a single guitar. I was able to put these skills to use in my first film score, Broken Noons - which is making its way through the international film festival circuit as I type this.

Brokeback Mountain 3 is dynamic, but relatively easy to play -- as there are no difficult chord shapes. The guitar tab is only two pages long and played straight through without repeats. I love the piece, and I hope you enjoy playing it as much as I do.
