Waking Up

Waking Up is a piece of music from the film, Lone Survivor. This is an awesome movie about the lone survival of Navy SEAL, Marcus Luttrell — after his 4 man reconnaissance team was chased up and down a mountain side by scores of Taliban fighters. The heavily injured Luttrell is eventually given shelter by a local Pashtun villager, Mohammad Gulab. Ben Foster is extraordinary in this movie and truly one of the greatest living actors.

The music is by the instrumental post-rock band, Explosions In The Sky. They’re most famous for the song, Your Hand in Mine, from the film, Friday Night Lights. Their music is constantly used in film and television recordings.

[I’m calling this Waking Up (a variation) because did my own thing with it. I was playing around with the chord progression and melodies — and I ended up creating an alternate arrangement of the piece. While the original uses a full band, I think this works well as a solo arrangement for guitar.]
