Farewell to Altamira

I LOVE this piece from Mark Knopfler. Next to The Godfather theme, it’s currently my most favorite thing to play. This piece is from the film Finding Altamira. The score is comprised of Knopfler — deftly playing subtle, Spanish guitar lines on a steel string parlor guitar.

The guitar tab is beautifully written across 2 pages. I highly recommend this piece for intermediate guitar players. It sounds sophisticated — but it’s relatively easy to play for a Spanish guitar piece. I hope you luxuriate in this arrangement like I do. The guitar tab is available below:

My order of play, in accordance with the guitar tab, goes like this:

Intro

Verse 3x

Outro 2x

End

I’ve written the chord shapes above the tab, to help you play it more efficiently. This will also help you learn your chord shapes — as it’s actually helping me too. I know just enough theory to be dangerous :/
