Evan Handyside is a minimalist fingerstyle guitarist and composer from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He crafts contemplative, cinematic guitar pieces that fuse sparce fingerstyle technique with ambient soundscapes, and subtle reverb.
Drawing influence from minimalist and neo-classical composers like Gustavo Santaolalla, Max Richter, and Jóhann Jóhannsson , Handyside’s music is perfect for focus, study, and film scoring. He is also a working short-film composer and the bassist for the Pittsburgh-based alt-rock band, New Invisible Joy.
As a member of New Invisible Joy, Evan has opened for numerous national artists like John Mayer, The Killers, Rufus Wainwright, Nirvana’s Krist Novoselic, and many more. He has also performed on television, radio, and at major-label showcases.
