Cornfield Chase

I’ve always wanted to double back to the crux of the Interstellar theme, which is really the motif titled “Cornfield Chase.” This was a high-water mark for composer Hans Zimmer. His genius is in not being outsmarted by his own technical skill — in picking the low-hanging fruit that everyone else steps over. It’s just the simplest of chord progressions, repeated over and over.

Christopher Nolan clearly places a premium on the music in his films. It’s not an afterthought — it’s an additional character. Much like the linkage between Steven Spielberg and John Williams.
