In Brightest Day, In Blackest Night

I really love the new Lanterns series on HBO. It’s definitely geared toward a more adult audience — much like the Star Wars spinoff, Andor. It also gives a True Detective vibe, as both of the protagonists are investigating a deadly crime at a small-town high school football game — where not everything is what it seems to be.

The first two episodes launched into the current story without a ton of backdrop. I guess I’m familiar with Lanterns from the 2011 Ryan Reynolds movie, Green Lantern— but the uninitiated will have to…
