The Ballad of Buster Scruggs

I’m a huge Coen Brothers fan, and the The Ballad of Buster Scruggs (Netflix) is one of their best. It’s really the Coen Bros unleashed — as Netflix doesn’t have the same constraints as a Hollywood studio.

My favorite of the 6 stories was ‘Meal Ticket’. A man with no arm and legs— works in servitude to an impresario, reciting impassioned poetry like Ozymandias. While successful in larger affluent towns, their travelling wagon show reaches remote mountain villages where the audiences are indifferent.
