Zambita

Zambita is pretty little tune by Gustavo Santaolalla from the critically acclaimed film, The Motorcycle Diaries (2004). This instrumental track perfectly encapsulates the spirit of youthful adventure, self-discovery, and the vast, breathtaking landscapes of South America.

Santaolalla, a two-time Academy Award winner for Best Original Score (for Brokeback Mountain and Babel), masterfully blends traditional Latin American folk elements with a contemporary, minimalist approach. “Zambita” specifically draws its name and essence from the “zamba,” a traditional Argentine folk dance and music style known for its graceful rhythm and often melancholic yet hopeful melodies

Like much of Gustavo Santaolalla’s film score work, Zambita is a fun, dynamic, and doable song to play on guitar. I LOVE playing this, I hope you do too.
