This sentimental, acoustic-driven song accompanies a scene in the latest Superman movie where Clark expresses fear that he was sent to Earth to “hurt people,” based on a message from his biological parents. Pa Kent counters this with a quietly powerful response about how it’s not destiny that defines us — it’s our choices and actions. You can watch that scene here.

Although I’m not a big fan of this latest iteration of Superman (more of a Snyder/Cavill devotee), this is easily my favorite piece from the soundtrack — a beautiful, sparse melody that hits right at the emotional core of the film.
