I wouldn’t have seen Zach Cregger’s Barbarian had it not been for the recommendation of a few friends. Upon first glance, the film seemed to be about a woman’s chance encounter with a psychopath. I felt like I had “the gist” and the movie seemed uninteresting. However, multiple friends swore to me that Barbarian swerves about halfway through — the entire premise of the film changes, and that the film is ton of fun.

Even after the recommendations, I still hadn’t watched it. It was only when I saw the creepy (early M. Night-ish) preview of “Weapons”…
