Song From a Secret Garden

Secret Garden is an Irish-Norwegian duo specializing in New Age instrumental music — combining elements of Celtic and neo-classical styles. The duo consists of Irish violinist Fionnuala Sherry and Norwegian composer and pianist Rolf Løvland.

The pair rose to international fame after winning the 1995 Eurovision Song Contest with “Nocturne,” a predominantly instrumental piece with only a few lines of Norwegian lyrics. This victory was unique as it marked the first time a largely instrumental song won the competition.

Secret Garden’s music is cinematic in nature, with grand, familiar sounding compositions. The music is so well written, that even upon a first listen, you’ll innately know where the melody is going. You’ll have the sense that you’ve heard this before.

Song From a Secret Garden is one of Secret Garden’s most beloved compositions. It was featured on their debut album, *Songs From a Secret Garden*, released in 1995, the same year they won Eurovision.
