Renaissance
“The White Lotus” is an acclaimed HBO anthology series, known for its social satire and dark comedy. Each season follows the wealthy guests and the staff at a luxurious “White Lotus” resort, with each location providing a new backdrop for the unfolding dramedy. “Renaissance” is the title theme from The White Lotus: Season 2 which takes place on the shores of Sicily.
The soundtrack is from composer, Cristobal Tapia de Veer; a Chilean-Canadian composer renowned for his unconventional musical scores. His work is often characterized by an eclectic blend of electronic, orchestral, and world music.
Renaissance ended up working well as a fingerstyle piece — as the (Am, F, C, Em, G) chord progression is really easy to play. When I’m creating an arrangement, I often pretend that I’m commissioned to create a guitar cue for the film or television show. This mental exercise helps me simplify what I’m doing — and get the essentials of the musical piece.
This arrangement is available on all streaming platforms:
