Logan

The final instalment of the Wolverine franchise was incredible, and they couldn’t have picked a better actor for this role. To witness Hugh Jackman’s range, watch Les Misérables. Though I know Wolverine fans aren’t necessarily going to rush to watch a musical, his performance as Jean Valjean was remarkable. Jackman regards the Valjean character as “the holy grail” of acting.

Marco Beltrami’s Logan theme sounds like a Trent Reznor riff — with foreboding dissonant notes. As the drums kick in the piece recalls the creeping dread of, In the House – In a Heartbeat, from 21 Days Later.

How to play Logan, Main Titles | fingerstyle guitar

The guitar tab for this piece is beautifully written across 2 pages. I consider it to be easy to play, as there are no difficult chord shapes. However, the piece is extremely convoluted. The theme is comprised of an ever changing collection of dissonant notes, coupled with a traditional bass line. I really had to concentrate on the guitar tab as I performed this in the video above.

Enjoy, the guitar tab is available below:

My song structure, in accordance with the guitar tab looks like this:

Intro, Verse, Chorus 2x

Verse, Chorus 2x

Verse, End.
