Ezio’s Family
“Ezio’s Family” is an iconic piece of music from Assassin’s Creed II. Composed by Jesper Kyd, the theme has become synonymous with the game’s protagonist, Ezio Auditore da Firenze. Its gentle, melancholic motif perfectly captures the essence of Ezio’s personal tragedy.
While the original melody is beautifully consistent, I wanted to break things up and create my own arrangement by introducing an entirely new interlude at the 1:00 mark. When I take on a project like this, I find it helpful to imagine I’m re-composing the piece for a modern Assassin’s Creed title. This motif has been woven into many later iterations of the series’ soundtracks, and it remains an indelible part of the Assassin’s Creed legacy.
