Eternia
Composer Daniel Pemberton is having quite a year. First he scores the massively successful Project Hail Mary, and now he’s behind Masters of the Universe.
You might not recognize the name immediately, but Pemberton is incredibly prolific โ and he’s long been one of my favorite film composers. Two highly underrated films with equally underrated soundtracks: King Arthur: Legend of the Sword and Ridley Scott’s The Counselor. The latter leans heavily into an old-west acoustic guitar sound that I absolutely love.
For Masters of the Universe, he built a nifty motif called “Eternia” as the title theme. The main version is wild and electric โ Brian May is on guitar โ but the End Credits version opens with a baroque take on that same motif. That’s what caught my ear, and that’s what I arranged.
Short, low stakes, and very fun to play. ๐

How to play Eternia | fingerstyle guitar
The guitar tab for this arrangement is cleanly written across 2 pages, and played straight through with no repeats. I’d recommend Eternia for beginner guitarists and up โ the chord shapes are approachable, and the whole piece is over before you know it.
