Batman Theme 2021

I absolutely loved Zack Snyder’s Justice League, and I wanted to explore more themes from the soundtrack with my guitar. I’m a huge fam of (SynderCut composer) Tom Holkenborg. He has an elaborate YouTube channel where he dives deep into his soundtrack work. He explained that Bruce Wayne’s story evolved from his disposition in Batman v Superman — and that merited an entirely new Batman theme.

Holkenborg was fired from JL by embattled director, Joss Whedon — then rehired by Zack Snyder for the 4-hour HBO Max cut. In this sense, Zack Snyder’s Justice League, is literally a multidimensional reclamation of justice.

While I’m sure that Robert Pattinson’s, The Batman (2022) will be amazing — I’m not prepared to let go of the Ben Afleck version of Bruce Wayne just yet. I’d like to see Warner Bros continue his story. For that matter, I couldn’t stand Jared Leto as Joker in Suicide Squad — but he was great at the end of Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Director David Ayers has already said his original version of Suicide Squad was hacked to pieces by the Warner Bros.

How to play the Batman Theme 2021 | fingerstyle guitar

The guitar tab for this theme is beautifully written across a single page. It’s relatively easy to play, and I recommend this piece for beginner guitar players and up. It’s also a nice etude for my 2 Minute Classical Guitar archive.

I based the melody in this arrangement on two track’s from the soundtrack:

Batman, an Invocation to Heal / To Be Seen
Batman, a Duty to Fight /To See

The Chorus end is a tough stretch — so I added an easier variation for beginners and less pliable guitar players!

This arrangement is played in an Open G Tuning (from low to high): D G D G B D. (I’m using a capo on the second fret which is unnecessary — as my guitar was tuned a whole step down to begin with.)
