Disclosure Day

Disclosure Day is Steven Spielberg’s 2026 sci-fi thriller about a cybersecurity whistleblower and a meteorologist who join forces to expose the truth about extraterrestrial life — and the powerful forces trying to keep it buried. The score is by the iconic, long-time Spielberg collaborator John Williams.

The central theme of Disclosure Day is a simple motif from the opening of the film called “Listen…” and the closing entitled “Reprise…”

That melody translated pretty naturally to fingerstyle guitar, so I paired it with the same theme a whole step higher. It came together as a fairly original take on the Disclosure theme — and a gorgeous little etude for the guitar. (An etude is a short practice piece designed to improve and showcase a guitarist’s technique.)
