Unrequited Love

When I write music, put my hands on the guitar to see what happens. After I get two or three notes, I execute what I hear in my head, and follow that thread until completion.

It’s hard for me to get away from a Gustavo Santaolalla sound, as his style informs all of my playing at this point. However, my main influence for Unrequited Love was the work of composer, Abel Korzeniowski; a Polish composer of theater and film scores.

Korzeniowski most famously composed the music for Tom Ford’s Nocturnal Animals. In my opinion, he should have been nominated for an Academy Award in 2016 for that score. The music totally drives the final scene of that movie.

Gear Used

For Unrequited Love, I used my Cordoba GK Studio guitar. I always use Savarez Red Card Strings — they work better if you play with your finger tips (not nails) like me. You can find the gear I currently use, here.

(Note: This is my premium material. Please subscribe to my YouTube channel, or click here to be updated on all of my latest guitar tabs.)

Unrequited Love is best for intermediate guitar players — although large portions are very doable for relative beginner guitarists.

The guitar tab is beautifully written across three pages. My order of play (in accordance with the guitar tab) goes like this:  Intro, Verse, Pre-Chorus, Chorus — Verse, Pre-Chorus, Chorus.

Enjoy, the guitar tab is available below:

Unrequited Love is played in standard tuning, with a capo on the 2nd fret.
