Misty Mountains is clearly the most popular and compelling piece of music from The Hobbit score. I couldn’t help but imagine how this low, Celtic sounding, Dwarf a-Capella would sound on a guitar.
The Hobbit: How to Play ‘Misty Mountains’
Misty Mountains is tuned one whole step down. The tuning from low to high is D G C F A D. From here, I was able to capture the low 3rds, 4ths, and 5ths.
Misty Mountains is easy to play and it should be considered a song for novice guitar players and up. If you’re a beginner guitar player, I’ve draw lines in Tab #2 where I feel there are appropriate breaks (or pauses) in the music. You should take one block at a time, figure it out, and move on.
