The Haunting of Hill House

The Haunting of Hill House is a great series on Netflix. It is supremely spooky. I’m 41 at the moment, and this series has me turning off the lights, and running up the basement steps. Everytime I turn my head, I think I see a figure in my peripheral vision.

[Incidentally, I found the movie Hereditary to be even more bone chilling.]

The music by The Newton Brothers is spectacular in The Haunting of Hill House. It’s truly the way a film score should be done. There are 3 central themes that are played in different variations throughout the series. You get very used to the melodies within the music — like another character in the series. This theme is additionally used in The Haunting of Bly Manor.

[I learned a lot from the music in The Haunting of Hill House. I recently completed my first score for the short film, Broken Noons. As of this writing we made the official selection of the FICMA International Film Festival.]

Gear used

I used my Cordoba C7 Cedar top for The Haunting of Hill House. It’s a warm sounding guitar. I use it when my Cordoba GK Studio is too bright for the particular piece. You can find a current list of my gear here.

How to play The End for classical guitar

(Note: This is my premium material. Please join my email list to be updated on all of my latest guitar tabs.)

The End is best suited for intermediate guitar players and up. The guitar tab is two pages long an beautifully written. It’s essentially one long passage played twice. You’ll play the guitar tab straight through without repeats.

Enjoy, the guitar tab is available below:

The End is played in standard tuning. *Disregard the capo on my 2nd fret. My C7 is tuned down one whole step. Applying a acpo to the second fret brings the guitar to standard tuning.
