The Avengers

The Avengers theme by composer Alan Silvestri is iconic. The way the chorus comes in gets me every time. You’ll hear it in the films when the tide has turned against the enemy, and the Avengers (specifically Iron Man) are really getting after it.

Rather than just execute the chords and progressions, I need vibe on any given piece that I’m about to transcribe. For this arrangement of The Avengers theme, I wanted to imagine it in the vein of an Ennio Morricone piece. Something like the Ecstasy of Gold.

It’s important to find the easiest way possible of playing any given guitar arrangement. Simplicity and elegance ultimately sounds better, and I believe my version of The Avengers theme achieved that objective.

This piece is best for intermediate level guitar players and up. Although most of it is relatively easy to play, there’s a couple chord shapes that will roadblock a beginner guitarist.

Good luck, the guitar tab is available below:

The guitar tab is beautifully written across three pages and played straight through. You’ll take care to repeat the indicated sections within the brackets. I drafted a few versions of this tab, and I’m extremely proud of the way this one lays out. It’s seamless and easy to read.
