Revelation

I love this song. Revelation is so minimalist — specifically the “vinyl” version from the Boy Erased soundtrack. I used the vinyl version as a template for this guitar arrangement.

The power of Revelation is in it’s subtlety; the unprocessed (unproduced) delicate way Troye Sivan sings. An excellent musical pairing with Jonsi (Sigur Ros).

How to play Revelation – fingerstyle guitar

Revelation is very easy to play. You never have more the one or two fingers on the guitar at once. It’s a perfect song for beginner guitar players.

The guitar tab is beautifully written across three pages. My order of play, in accordance with the guitar tab, goes like this: Intro, Verse 1 (2x) Chorus, Post Chorus — Intro, Verse 2 (2x), Chorus, End (page 3).

Enjoy, the guitar tab is available below:

Revelation is played in a variation of an open D tuning. Without a capo, you’ll tune your guitar down to open D — (From low to high) D G D F# A D.

Then, *you’ll place a capo on the 3rd fret. Doing it this way avoids tuning strings up — which has the potential for breakage.
