“Take the first step, and your mind will mobilize all its forces to your aid. But the first essential is that you begin. Once the battle is startled, all that is within and without you will come to your assistance.” – Robert Collier

My arrangement of Brian Tyler’s Iron Man 3 came together in about 10 minutes. It’s not always that easy.  Man of Steel (Hans Zimmer) took a week to finalize the draft, and two days to get decent recording.

Despite the stubbornness of some posts — I’m still able to have a sizable output of material, because I minimize distraction, and above all, — I begin.

If you’re undergoing any creative endeavor that requires productivity — learning guitar, art, starting a blog, creating an online business — I find that cultivating one behavior will really help you:

Ignoring media and people.

After all, your mind cannot mobilize all its forces to your aid, if you’re distracted by the noise of the 24 hour news cycle, or conflicted about what others (even loved ones) might think of your plans.

In between promulgating despair, the entertainment news media is very good at dividing people by playing on their anxieties.  When your thoughts are consumed by the goings-on of the entire world, you leave little room for exploring your passion, and thus finding true happiness.

Your friends and loved ones, as well intended as they are, don’t want you to be disappointed.  They will caution you down from your lofty expectations.  They might even try to suggest a different path or approach.  Don’t listen.  This is precisely when you know you’re dong something right.

How to Play Iron Man 3 for Classical Guitar

You could just as easily strum the chords with your thumb, but I use my fingers to arpeggiate each of the chords. Each chord is compromised of 4 strings — so my right hand strum goes like this: thumb, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd fingers.

I’ve divided the tab up into tiny sections based upon the chord position.  I also believe this will be a helpful to you, as you make your way through each of the riffs.

Iron Man 3 is played in standard tuning.  Enjoy, the tab is available below:
