batman v superman

The chord progression and melody for Beautiful Lie is classic Hans Zimmer. It reminds me of his other great works: Time, Solomon, and Chevaliers de Sangreal.

Hans Zimmer has a knack for these simple, steady, and impassioned chord progressions — that slowly build in their intensity.

Batman v Superman’s co-composer, Tom Holkenborg (aka Junkie XL) is also one of the world’s premier film composers. He’s created the music for Mad Max: Fury Road, Black Mass, and Deadpool. You can find my guitar arrangements of his work here.

I’ve created guitar arrangements for a few other pieces from the Batman v Superman soundtrack. I haven’t seen the movie yet, but I’m guessing Men Are Still Good (the Batman Suite) will be the ongoing (Ben Affleck) Batman theme.

It seems as though Hans Zimmer and Tom Holkenborg (Junkie XL) also created music specifically for the trailer. That untitled song turned out to be a really great classical guitar piece — and it’s also a free tab.

Lastley, I’ve added the epic Man of Steel theme to my Batman v Superman archive. Hans Zimmer’s reinvention of the iconic Superman theme is arguably his greatest achievement.
