Visions of Gideon

Visions of Gideon is a song by the New York based multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter, Sufjan Stevens. His songs from the film, Call Me By Your Name are atmospheric and layered. The soundtrack also features avant-garde classical works and music by composer, Ryuichi Sakamoto (The Revenant).

I prefer Visions of Gideon from the soundtrack. The chord progression ticks-all-the-boxes for me. The lyrics are delightfully weird — and I found this reddit comment explaining the meaning behind the, “is it a video” line.

Call Me By Your Name is an academy award nominated movie, by director, Luca Guadagnino.

Visions of Gideon is played in standard tuning with a capo on the 1st fret. [I find the neck easier to read with the capo on an even fret, so I tuned my guitar down one 1/2 step and placed my capo on the second fret.]
