About Evan
Evan Handyside is a minimalist fingerstyle guitarist and composer from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He crafts contemplative, cinematic guitar pieces — sparse fingerstyle wrapped in ambient space and subtle reverb. This stripped-back approach owes a lot to Gustavo Santaolalla — proof that restraint, not complexity, is often what gives music its weight.
As bassist for the alt-rock band New Invisible Joy, he has opened for national artists including John Mayer, The Killers, and Nirvana’s Krist Novoselic. He also composes music for short films and has taught guitar privately for 30 years.
Evan has over 42,000 YouTube subscribers, 6 million views, and 20,000 monthly listeners on Spotify.
